Jeannette Unite


Jeannette Unite has exhibited in London, Scandinavia and has both public and private work in several esteemed collections across five continents. She has held a number of successful solo exhibitions, both in South Africa and abroad, at galleries such as Bell-Roberts Contemporary, Ann Bryant E London Regional Gallery, AVA and the Irma Stern museum gallery, among others. Her patrons include SwissRe, Vodacom, Old Mutual and Clifford Chance.

In the process of mapping areas affected by mining and migrant labour, Jeannette’s work has shown in various locations such as Kimberly, the Mozambique National Gallery and Johannesburg.

Along with facilitating group artist exhibitions and community based projects, Jeannette has taught specialist art subjects at the Frank Joubert Art Centre for Hard of hearing children as well as at the Foundation school Art, Education department of UCT (Adult Education).

Along with her painting and drawings Jeannette has made a variety of art videos. Her film South Africa Today was screened to an audience 3500 and accompanied by a live orchestra in Finland (opened by Cheryl Carolus).

Jeannette is the recipient of Kelloggs Young Artist Award as well as the Glass Art Wall Competition for the CSIR Dep. Of Science Technology (PTA).
