Single Parent is the artwork that brought about my artistic breakthrough and turning point. In this work I deal with my personal issues, by conveying what my mother went through during a period of single parenting.
I use mythological figures to represent a feeling of uneasiness that happens when life vibrates negatively. The sadness of the mood represents inner pain or hurt which may result as a sense of filthiness.
I am sure that I found comfort within this concept because I’ve been avoiding my visions and personal issues for a long time; therefore I now believe that this term of “art Heals” is true. This concept also allows me to utilize my visual sensitivity.
