MARCELLE OLIVER

This collection of ceramic work by Marcelle Oliver is hand made using a combination of traditional coil and slab work techniques that accentuate contemporary African cultural influences.

The design finishes use a variety of mediums ranging from oxides etched into the natural clay to bright metallic glazes fired to earthenware temperatures.

Her inspiration comes from our eclectic cultural environment where function and design come together in an informal and unpretentious manner.

Marcelle Oliver is passionate about ceramics which she has been creating for the past 15 years.  She teaches ceramics at King David School, Victory Park from junior school level to matric.
