How to find The Thompson Gallery
Directions from Beyers Naude Drive
follow Beyers Naude Dr. in the general direction of johannesburg city center (the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens will be on your left). keep going straight , past the traffic lights (where Judith road intersects Beyers Naude at a T junction).
Beyers Naude will turn into Main Rd as it reaches Melville. Keep going, throught the traffic lights that mark 4'th Ave. At the very next road (3rd Ave) turn left. It is a small road, so don't miss it. A bottle store should mark the corner on your left hand side.
Continue along 3rd avenue . The Thompson Gallery is on your right, 3 houses down from Gordart. We are a dark blue and terracotta building wth a brown gate.
Directions from Kingsway
If Campus Square is on your right, take a right at the traffic lights into Main Rd. Continue along Main Rd, past the next set of traffic lights. You are now in Melville.
3rd Ave should be on your right. As mentioned above, it is a small road so don't miss it. It is marked by a bottle store on the corner. Continue along 3rd avenue . The Thompson Gallery is on your right, 3 houses down from Gordart. We are a dark blue and terracotta building wth a brown gate.
Alternatively if there is too much traffic to turn directly into 3rd Ave, keep along Main Rd and at the next set of traffic lights (marking 4th Ave) turn right. At the first traffic circle turn right and take your next left. You are now in 3rd Ave. Proceed as above.
