Herina Holtzhausen
Herina is an established ceramicist who specializes in quirky teapots and highly detailed under and over glaze painting.
She has exhibited her work in a number of the Ceramics SA regional and national exhibitions, from which one of her pieces was chosen for the Corrobrick collection (Pretoria Art Gallery). She has also exhibited in Johan Smith’s gallery (Clarens) as well as Catherine Brennan’s Underberg Studio.
I work mainly with Terra Cotta clay. I do hand as well as wheel work, which I often combine.
I have also explored the lovely qualities of purple earth, the Chinese teapot clay.
